Top Ten Tuesday Eighty Four – Top Ten Books on my Autumn 2020 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/ meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week we are talking about all of the books on our Autumn TBR, and if I’m honest this is always the seasonal TBR that I most look forward to. Not only is Autumn my favourite season, but I also always get in the mood for dark and mysterious books with morally grey characters and twists around every corner, which I am never not a fan of.

So here are all of the books on my Autumn TBR!

The fact that I haven’t read this book yet breaks my heart because I was always planning to read it as soon as it was released at the start of September, but unfortunately due to a few problems trying to get a copy of it I have yet to pick it up. Therefore its no surprise that the moment I am done with buddy reads, I am devouring this one even if it is likely to break me even more than King of Fools did.

After how much I adored If We Were Villains, I am desperate to read some more dark academia, and now seems like the perfect time of year to do exactly that. This book just sounds like something I will adore, and so I can not wait to be sat curled up in bed in my uni house reading about corrupt students and their fall into darkness.

It seemed like a few months everyone was reading, and loving, this book, and whilst I didn’t jump on the bandwagon back then, I am still really excited to dive into it myself and see what all the hype is about. Furthermore, I love the idea of this book following a supposedly solved murder as opposed to a recent one where no one has been charged, and so I am really intrigued to see how this makes this thriller a little different from others I’ve read.

After reading the first two books in this series earlier this year, I am really in the mood to finish things off and see what more could possibly be in store for the Foxes. The characters in these books are ones that have truly stolen my heart, and after the way The Raven King ended, I am desperate to see how this story is going to wrap up.

Although I did prefer Karen M. McManus second book over her first, I am definitely still eager to read another thriller from her. I’m still a little confused as to how this connects to One of us is Lying and how much of a sequel this one truly is, but as long as I get a good old mystery and some good suspense then I don’t mind exactly how the two are connected.

Since I started becoming a lot more active on my bookstagram, I’ve managed to take part in a fair few buddy reads, and so this is one that I am going to be reading as part of one in October. This one is definitely a little bit out of my comfort zone, and as someone who has never read a Stephen King novel before I will admit I am nervous, but I do love the sound of this one and so am really hoping that this one will live up to its synopsis.

This one is very much in a similar vein to The Secret History, because at the moment I am really in the mood for all the dark academia I can get my hands on. Not only does the synopsis of this book make me want to stop what I am doing and pick it up right this second, but I also already know that I’m likely to love it because its by Leigh Bardugo.

This one might win the prize for the book that has been on my TBR the longest, as well as the one that I have said I am going to read the most often, so I’m definitely not making any promise that this will be the time I will finally pick it up. That said, I am really hoping to read this one before the end of the year, because as I say everytime, I know I am going to love this one and so just need to actually get around to reading it.

This time of year always puts me in the mood for thrillers and murder mysteries, and so I can definitely see myself picking this one up before the season is over. I don’t know too much about this one but I quite like the idea of going into a story about secrets and deception being pretty in the dark myself, so in the end I just hope this one fulfills my desire for a good thriller.

This was one of my most anticipated releases for the second half of the year, and so when I received it in my August Book Box Club box I was more than excited. This just seems like the perfect October read with the ghosts and spooky vibes it gives off, and so I can’t wait to hopefully dive into it very soon.
