Top Ten Tuesday Eighty Three – Top Ten Books That Make Me Smile

TTT 35 (1)

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/ meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week we are talking about some books that made me smile, a topic I am super excited about because who doesn’t love talking about books that made them happy?  When I think of books that made me smile, my mind instantly goes to cute contemporary stories, so its no surprise that those are what makes up the majority of this list!

So here are some books that made me smile!

This is an old favourite of mine that still holds my heart for the beautiful relationship that develops between Natasha and Daniel over a single day.  Its just so lovely watching them get to know each other, and help each other with their problems however they can, plus that epilogue made me smile for days!

I feel like I’ve talked about these books so much since I started reading them at the start of the year, but thats because of just how happy they make me!  These graphic novels are the cutest stories following Nick and Charlie as their friendship soon begins to blossom into something more, leading them both to discover themselves whilst also being the most gorgeous couple.  I honestly don’t know how I am going to wait for the release of volume four!

Don't Date Rosa Santos

This was the first sort of light contemporary story I had read in a while when I picked it up two months ago, and it instantly made me remember some of the joys of reading these sort of books.  This book put such a big smile on my face as it was such a gorgeous story about family, heritage and home, meanwhile Rosa herself was someone I adored following along with.  If you want a contemporary to cheer you up and make you feel super summery then definitely pick this one up!

I kid you not, the moment I started this audiobook, I began smiling because of how comforting and cute this story is, and how lovely it was to return to Lara Jean’s story.  Lara Jean and her family are just the cutest and so enjoyable to follow along with that you just can’t help but have the best time with this novel and this series as a whole.

Red, White & Royal Blue

How can anyone not smile at the cuteness of Alex and Henry’s relationship in this book?  This book is just the perfect mix of romance, humour and a little bit of politics as Alex and Henry have to balance their growing relationship with their public appearance, and it just made me so happy to read about it all.

Cute contemporaries like this can’t help but make me smile, and this one was no different as I loved watching Dimple and Rishi slowly get to know each other and develop their relationship throughout this story.  The story was just so much fun and included so many swoon-worthy and nerdy moments that just made my heart really happy.

This book made me smile just for the sense of nostalgia it gave me despite the fact that I read this book for the first time last autumn.  Everything about this one just reminded me of old stories and books I would read as a child whilst still being an enjoyable and interesting read as an adult, and for that reason I just couldn’t help but have a great time whilst reading this one.

This was the first graphic novel I ever read, and was the best introduction I could possibly have to the format as this one definitely made me smile with its humour and fantastical story.  This book was just so much fun to read whilst still having heavier and more serious moments, and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a graphic novel to try.

Carry On

I’ve always put this book off because of the hype surrounding it, but after finally reading it this past month I can’t help but join in on the love for this story that is filled with so many gorgeous moments and characters that instantly make me smile.  From Baz’s witty humour to Simon and Penelope’s friendship, this book is just such a fun ride from start to finish that I am already desperate to return to this world in Wayward Son.
