I Should Read That Book Tag

TTT 35 (2)

This tag was originally created by Beth @ Books Nest.

I was super excited when I saw that the wonderful Keri @ Are You My Book had tagged me to do this tag, so thank you Keri!  There are so many books on my TBR that I should read and should have read by now, so this entire post is likely going to me repeatedly talking about hopefully picking up that book soon and reading that one before the end of the year.

So here is the I Should Read That Book Tag!

I feel like everyone and their mum loves Vicious by V. E. Schwab and so I see it recommended it to me all the time, but I have also had quite a few people in my life suggest it to me, or say that they think I would enjoy it, which I totally agree with.  Honestly the hype just scares me a little with this one, but that’s no excuse to not dive into it and hope that everyone is right about just how good this book is.

There are way more books than I’d like to admit that I could choose for this one, but today I am going to say Poison Study by Marie V. Snyder as I actually can no longer remember when I first added it to my shelves.  This one just sounds like a really interesting fantasy story that I am honestly still excited to dive into myself, so hopefully this one won’t be on my TBR for too much longer.

Not only have I started the Lunar Chronicles series by Marissa Meyer, but I have even started the third book, Cress, but have somehow never got around to finishing either.  I thoroughly enjoyed the first two books in this series and so I am determined to pick this one up again rather than just leaving it unread for months and months on end.

There are so many classics I love the sound of, but one at the top of that list has to be Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen, another book so many people seem to have read and loved.  I am desperate to dive into my first Jane Austen book and to see if I fall as in love with her stories as others have, as well as to hopefully get back into the swing of picking up classics every so often, something I haven’t done in almost two years now.

I feel like absolutely everyone has read Carry On by Rainbow Rowell, a fact that I was once again reminded of as the sequel, Wayward Son was released last year.  There is no reason other than the hype as to why I have yet to pick this up myself, as I adored Fangirl and so naturally can not wait to see the story included in that brought to life.

I had to slightly alter this question as I acutally could not think of a single film or TV adaptation to fit this, most likely as I avoid any adaptations where I have not read the book first.  So instead I went with an adaptation I am super excited about despite not having read the book yet, for which I choose Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng.  I am hoping for this one to have similar vibes to Big Little Lies, but either way every extra bit of information I hear about this series just makes me more and more desperate to read the book before it comes out.

Not only does it seem like everyone adores Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, but I also see a ton on my Instagram feed as it is such a gorgeous book no matter which cover you have.  Its beautiful cover is also another reason why I would love to just finally pick it up and stop being intimidated by its size, as then I can take all of the pictures I like of it without feeling guilty for not having actually read it yet.

Have any of you guys done this tag yet?  What books on your TBR should you have definitely read by now?

  1. Such fun prompts! I’ve never read Jane Austen either… and I have two of her novels on my bookshelf! :hangs head in shame: The classic I’d want to read though is Little Women. I loved Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere! You is a good one too, weird, but good. I need to read All The Bright Places before watching the Netflix adaptation.

  2. Can’t remember if I’ve said this before, but wow, you take such beautiful book pics–I’m in awe! (psst, teach me your ways!)

I also haven’t read any Schwab yet or Strange the Dreamer. But omg, I love Pride & Prejudice and I totally recommend it! Have you watched any of the adaptations? If not, that might help motivate you to pick up the book. I’ve also read Poison Study (a while ago tho) and it was pretty decent, tho I never continued on with the series passed the first book, but hopefully someday I’ll return to it!

So glad to see ya enjoyed the tag! ❤
