Top Ten Tuesday Fifty Five – Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/ meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

Hello!  I’m back after taking about a month off of blogging and everything to do with it, and I apologise for not explaining that I was going on a little hiatus beforehand, but honestly it was a very spontaneous decision that I knew I had to make at the time.  I’ll probably explain more in my May & June Wrap Up, but basically life just got very busy with school and work, but now that things have calmed down I am ready to get back into things over the summer!

Speaking of the summer, this Top Ten Tuesday seemed like the perfect first post back, as I have so many books that I can not wait to read this summer!  I am finally getting back into the swing of reading, and so I have a very long list of books that I am now super excited to finally get the chance to get round to during the warmer months!

So here are ten books on my summer TBR!

I’ve been desperate to read this one since its release a couple of years ago as it sounds exactly like my sort of contemporary, and so this summer seems like the perfect time to do just that as I recently picked up a copy for myself.  I love the inclusion of Eliza’s web-comic within the story, and can’t wait to see why everyone seemed to love this book!

This third installment in the Ember Quartet is at the top of my to-read list as I need to read it both before the fourth and final book is released, and before I forget absolutely everything that happened in the last two books.  I also for some reason always seem to read this spectacular fantasies during the summer, so I am desperate to continue that this year.

I haven’t been great at keeping up with new releases so far this year, so I would love to start and change that by diving into this unique-sounding contemporary that I picked up a few months ago.  I love everything about the synopsis to this one, and can’t wait to explore this debut, no matter how many tissues I may need whilst reading it.

I have been holding off watching the movie adaptation for this book as I have yet to read it, so I would love to be able to finally discover this story for myself this summer, as it looks like my perfect rom-com.  This light-hearted read is also perfect for this time of year, and so I will be very disappointed if I don’t get round to it at some point this summer.

Recently I have fallen so behind on Cassandra Clare’s books that I would love to at least attempt to slightly catch up during the summer when I have the most time to read and marathon all of her books that I have yet to read.  This collection of novellas is the first of those that I need to get around to, as I’ve heard it is better to read before starting The Dark Artifices, and so if nothing else I am determined to finally knock this book off my TBR before the summer is out.

With Call Down the Hawk being released in November, I am desperately in need of reading this story to possibly get me even more excited for the first book in the Ronan dreamer trilogy.  It has been so long since I relished in Maggie Stiefvater’s gorgeous writing style through one of her whimsical and magical tales, and so I am super excited to be able to discover another one during these warmer months.

This one literally has sun in the title, so it seems like a crime to not pick up this contemporary during the summer.  Despite not enjoying Jandy Nelson’s other novel, The Sky is Everywhere, I have heard much better things about this one that follows twins Noah and Jude as they each tell half of their story from different time periods, and so I am hoping to finally see what this book holds for myself very soon.

Summer is the perfect time to pick up a Morgan Matson book, and so it is well past time for me to devour her most recent release whilst soaking up the warm sun.  I am most likely going to save this one to read whilst sat beside a pool under a hopefully clear blue sky, and honestly I can not wait to return to a good old cute romantic contemporary.

I can not believe that I still have yet to read this whimsical fantasy story about Lazlo Strange and the lost city of Weep which everyone seems to love, especially as it sounds exactly like my sort of read.  So with an almost entirely free summer ahead of me, I am determined to make the most of the time and devour this gorgeous book under the sun.

After reading Daughter of the Burning City earlier this year, I am now even more excited to dive into another fantasy by Amanda Foody, as I fell in love with her writing style and world-building in her debut.  I am also in love with the sound of this dark story set in the City of Sin, and with the sequel, King of Fools, also recently released, it seems like no better time to dive into this fantasy.
