Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/ meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This weeks topic is one that I am super excited for, as like so many others, I adore book quotes with all my heart. Almost all of my favourite books have an endless number of tabs in them marking all of my favourite moments and quotes, so returning to them for this post was something I definitely didn’t mind doing.
So here are ten (plus a bonus one) of my favourite inspirational or thought-provoking book quotes!
‘The best books, they don’t talk about things you never thought about before. They talk about things you’d always thought about, but that you didn’t think anyone else had thought about. You read them, and suddenly you’re a little bit less alone in the world. You’re part of this cosmic community of people who’ve thought about this thing, whatever it happens to be.’
WE ALL LOOKED UP BY TOMMY WALLACH
‘Most maidens are perfectly capable of rescuing themselves in my experience, at least the ones worth something, in any case.’
THE NIGHT CIRCUS BY ERIN MORGENSTERN
‘I can no more choose my thoughts than choose my name’
TURTLES ALL THE WAY DOWN BY JOHN GREEN
‘No one goes on, but what we leave behind keeps us alive for someone else.’
THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END BY ADAM SILVERA
‘She wasn’t interested in telling other people’s futures. She was interested in going out and finding her own.’
THE RAVEN BOYS BY MAGGIE STIEFVATER
‘If you’re going to live, you might as well do painful, brave, and beautiful things.’
THE SERPENT KING BY JEFF ZENTNER
‘Be a little kinder than you have to.’
WE WERE LIARS BY E. LOCKHART
‘We are born to dream and make the things we dream about.’
THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR BY NICOLA YOON
‘Hate ricochets, but kindness does too.’
A LIST OF CAGES BY ROBIN ROE
‘The only power any man has over you is the power you give him.’
FLAME IN THE MIST BY RENEE AHDIEH
‘What’s the point of having a voice if you’re gonna be silent in those moments you shouldn’t be?’
THE HATE U GIVE BY ANGIE THOMAS
