Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature/ meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This weeks topic is one I found so hard, as I am someone who hates admitting that they are never going to read a certain book, much less never finish a certain series. So this list was quite a strange one to write, as everytime I’d think of a series, I would then spend the next five minutes convincing myself that I would finish that series and read the sequels, when in reality that is unlikely to ever happen.
And so, here are six series I am unlikely to ever finish!
Honestly, I just really wasn’t a huge fan of the first book in this series, Caraval, and so this is definitely a series that I will not be finishing as its just not one for me.
Although I didn’t love the first book in this series, I did actually quite enjoy it and was interested in continuing on with the sequel when I first read it. However, it has now been three years since I read that book, and so I remember absolutely nothing about this story and didn’t love it enough to go back and reread it just to continue on, and so I am quite happy to just leave this series unfinished.
Despite flying through the first book in this series when I read it last year, I knew the moment I got to the end that I would probably never pick up the sequel, as I was just not a fan of how this story ended. I think its because it reminded me of other series where I really didn’t enjoy the sequel, but whatever the reason I just know that unfortunately this is not a series I will likely ever finish.
This is another where I actually really enjoyed the first book in this duology, and was super excited to continue on and see what happened next, and in all honestly, that might still happen some day. However, at the minute, I am just not interested enough nor do I remember enough about the first book to want to finish off this duology, as much as I loved Wolf by Wolf.
This is one of the few series on this list where I am 100% certain that I will never be finishing these books. I have tried countless number of times to get into this series, but after my last DNF of the second book at only 100 pages or so, I’ve just accepted that this series is definitely not for me.
Out of all of the series on this list, this is probably the most popular, as just so many people adore these books and these characters, and in all honestly I am sure I would too if I had grown up with these books. I have read the first three books, and whilst I certainly enjoyed them, I just can’t see myself continuing on at this moment.
