The Real Neat Blogger Award

I was nominated by the lovely Sophie over at Books Like Wolves, whose blog you should definitely go and check out if you haven’t already!

I always love being tagged in posts like this, even if it does take me a few weeks to get round to actually doing them myself (sorry!), and so I’m really excited to be doing this one today!

Heist – I’m pretty sure this one is very much taken from my love of Six of Crows, but nonetheless any book that talks about a heist or a some other kind of big crime, particularly in a fantasy book, is a book I am going to want to read.

Mental Illness – Okay so technically this is two words, but they are still buzzwords that instantly make me more inclined to pick up a book.  Last year I discovered how much I enjoyed reading books about mental health, especially ones surrounding anxiety which I deal with myself, and so now it is something that I love seeing in books, and will also make me so much likely to read a book.

One Day – Again, this is technically not one word, but I am a sucker for books that take place over just one day, or over a short period of time.  I just love the idea of creating such an amazing story in such a short space of time, and even if they are sometimes not the most realistic, I still love watching how much characters can grow and how much can really change in just one day.

This one has to be Flame in the Mist by Renee Ahdieh.  Although there were so many gorgeous covers for books that were released last year, this one has to be my favourite as I just adore the colour scheme and the gorgeous bird and flowers that make up this beautiful cover.

I personally think that Renee Ahdieh & Leigh Bardugo could write one of the most amazing fantasy books together.  They are both two of my favourite YA fantasy authors, who are both amazing at writing large casts of characters, and so I can not imagine how spectacular a book written by these two ladies would be.

I love this question!  This may be because I still think I’m in a bit of a book hangover from Our Dark Duet, but I think I’m going to say August from the Monsters of Verity duology.  He’s such a complex character who struggles with the desire to be human even though he is a monster, and so I think I can definitely relate with that desire to be something that almost goes against who you think you are.

I’m incredibly shy, so don’t be put off if I’m incredibly quiet at first!  It definitely takes me a while to become comfortable with people, and so I would just love for people to know that its not their fault if I’m a little on the quiet side at first, I’m just not that talkative when you first me.  Give me time and although I still won’t be the loudest person in the room, there is definitely the possibility that I could end up talking your ear off.

Strangely this one was actually quite a hard one for me, but some of the ones that I remember were Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, Shaun the Sheep and of course The Story of Tracey Beaker, which is a feel like is a childhood staple if you grew up in the UK.

This question is so good but so hard!  I personally think that This Savage Song by V. E. Schwab would make such a good movie, as it has that dystopian aspect that I think would translate really well into a film and just generally is a story that I can see becoming such an amazing adaptation.  As for who I’d cast, I honestly have no idea who I would want to play any of the characters at the moment!

That’s it for my questions!  I am only going to be nominating Winged Cynic as I’m pretty sure alot of people have already done this tag!

If you could ship two characters from different books (platonically or romantically), who would you ship?
What is one of your favourite quotes (doesn’t have to be from a book)?
What 2018 debut are you most anticipating?
What book would you like to adapt to a movie / T.V. show and who would you cast? (I’m reusing this question because I liked it too much not to!)
What are three songs that you are loving right now?
Name three random facts about yourself
What book to movie adaptation are you most anticipating this year?
